Four
of Eustace and Daisy's sons Willie, Joe, Cotesworth, and deSaussure continued
living in Pinckney Colony where they reared their families and became
productive farmers. They built a one-room schoolhouse for their children
and engaged Professor Edward Bohun Bellinger as teacher. In 1915 they
constructed the Colony Catholic Church, "St. Mary's In the Woods". In
1928 under the direction of Father Linehan, a priest from Ireland, the
Camp St. Mary's tents were set up under the oak grove on Uncle Willie's
front lawn.
